Frequently Asked Questions

One of the motivations behind starting our independent wealth management firm was to do something truly special and serve our clients in an independent manner. You may have questions about what it looks like to work with an independent advisor versus a large wirehouse. Some questions we commonly answer include:

How are you paid? Do you have a fee-based or commission-based pay structure?

We are independent advisors, meaning that we are not required to meet any quotas or sell specific products. Every client will have a different pay structure because some products, such as insurance, are commission-based and others, like financial plans, are fee-based. Whether you engage in a product or service, we always act in your best interest, remaining objective and unbiased.

Regardless of what compensation structure you choose, we will always educate you on what you will pay and be transparent about all costs.

How does the new Department of Labor ruling change the way financial advisors work?

At Inflection Point Wealth Management, it doesn’t change much. We have always acted as fiduciaries for our advisory clients and we always act in their best interest. For other advisors, it may mean changing the way they make recommendations and reconsidering their bottom line.

What is the benefit of working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional?

Our founder, Aaron Klemm, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, which means that he has completed extensive training and is held to the highest ethical and educational standards. To learn more about working with a CFP® designee, click here.

What if I come to your firm after working with other professionals?

Often, our clients come to us after working with other advisors and have a sort of piecemeal plan. We will work with you to sort out all of your different assets and accounts and consolidate your data into a cohesive strategy. We are also more than happy to work with your other professionals, such as CPAs and attorneys, to assure that your whole financial picture is being examined.

These are just a few of the questions to get you started thinking about financial planning. If your question isn’t on this list, give us a call and we would be happy to meet about your planning objectives.
